Baltimore mom sends son home after catching him protesting

One Baltimore mother was angry when she discovered her son was joining the protests in Baltimore on Monday, KOIN-TV reports. Toya Graham was caught on camera yelling at and smacking her son to get him to leave the riot and go home. Rioters plunged part of Baltimore into chaos Monday, after thousands mourned Freddie Gray who died from a severe spinal injury he suffered in police custody.

 

REMEBERING A NATION'S 1st GREATEST TRAGEDY............

During the Civil Wars Years, we were a nation divided over the issue of Slavery. Though we were still a young nation attempting to continuing  to develop - expand our borders - maintain our status of an independent country - this conflict threatened to permenately separate/divide this great land.

The one constant in all this mess was President Abraham Lincoln. Though his election, to the highest office in the land, was the start of the Southern states succeeding from the union. He held fast to the notion that it was his duty and obligation to retain the Union as a whole. The Southern states were viewed as Rebels and were to be defeated and returned to the Union.

President Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation truly angered the South as it did what they refused to do - Freed The Slaves - Otherwise the South was gaining greatly over the Union. Until the President finally found a General who had the moxy and ability to get things to turn around for the North and Ultimately Win the nation's war. It was the President's notion that now the war was over it was time to repair the country  and renew the progress that had been disrupted by Civil war. Hence it was President Lincoln's idea that there be no malice toward none.

Sadly, President Lincoln did not get to see his dream of a fully united nation, the breach healed and the nation continuing to grow and rise to a more powerful nation within the world of Politics. For on the night of Good Friday, April 14, 1865 while attending a play - Our American Cousin - at Ford's Theater the President was shot in the left rear side of his head and did the following morning, April 15, 1865.

The Nation went into mourning - it was also the first time that this country was with out it Leader.
After the Vice President had been sworn into office as the New Commander in Chief of the United States and the honors and tributes were made to the fallen Commander in Chief, the idea of Malice To None was swept aside as there were powerful officials that wanted the South to pay for its rebellion.

Sadly, this author wishes to state that, HAD the government officials continued onward with the Lincoln plan for after the war - Many, and I Mean MANY of the issues that have arisen since then might very well have been avoided in the mid-20th Century up to the 2nd decade of the 21st Century thus-far.

start standing for the people on the major issues. Do your damn job.


The time has arrived that big change is needed in regards to the Government of The United States. Looking back at how the Congressional Body has made a travesty of a Government by the people, for the people. Instead these representatives who make up the two houses of Congress, have chosen to sell their souls for the sake of gratuitous  Business n Interests Groups and their interests and forsaking the will of the people. It is High Time to now limit the terms of office for the Congressional Body. If the President is limited on the number of terms he can serve then so can the Congress. This would definitely bring fresh blood, new ideas in regards to handling the cares and concerns of the People. There is also the need to reduce the benefits that these people get. Remember this governing body is composed of persons that are no better or worse than the average American. Let them have HMO Insurances, and as their terms are limited there would be no need for a "lifetime" pension.


The people that are chosen to serve in the government body as our representatives should be and must be People that understand the blight of the regular citizen of this country. Corporate Execs, Lawyers, Obnoxious rich men who have NO clue what the average person goes thru daily, etc. These persons only serve their own ends and push away the interests of the common person.

When it comes to reality shows I can leave them rather than take them However I do like to watch "Kitchen Nightmares" with Gordon Ramsey.

The basis of the show is that Gordon goes into a faltering restaurant to help the owners improve their sales and menus. And it is often the owners who requests his assistance in these matters.

Now mind you Gordon is not a sweet talker when it comes to his observations of the overall food place. He can be abrasive, rude and down right nasty with his criticisms. All of which is done to emphasize the problems the eatery has.

What I do not get is how the owners or in charge chefs get so easily offended at the comments. Eh...excuse me BUT did you, the requestor, not ask the man for help with the fledgling business???
Just makes no sense to me. UGH!

Hollywood & the World Mourns

A late posting of this now known news -

Famed Comic and Actor ROBIN WILLIAMS has died at the age 63 (08/11/2014). He hung himself in his San Francisco area home.

EXPLAIN -

Perhaps my facts maybe off - not a professional here - but is not the Palestinian and Jewish war about a right to some land called home. This constant bickering read WAR should have been resolved years ago had the world stood the grounds.  GIVE THEM the LAND to call Home/Country. Be done with this child's play

My Favorite Northeast Philadelphia Pizza Shop, by far the Best in the area I live in. It is made the old way; hand tossed then laid out on a wood top counter/table where the sauce and then the cheese are added then goes on a wood /metal board which is lightly sprinkled with corn meal then placed in the oven on its floor without any device (pan, wire rack or other), to hasten the cooking time (about 15 minutes) and it's delivered Hot - The are the Bomb!!!!

 

Too Little for Too Much....................

I for one have had enough of being short changed by eateries such as IHOP and the Fast Food Chains such as Burger King, McDonalds and Wendy's. These places have the gall to up their prices and then reduce the products that are offered.

IHOP - you used to get an order of pancakes that covered the inner part of a dinner place now you get dessert sized plates with pancakes that cover the inner part of the plate hence they went from 6-7 inch circumference size to 3-4 inch sized cakes and they do not even fill the Coffee Kraft - you'll  be lucky to get 2 1/2 cups of their awful brew.

Regarding the Fast Food Burger joints - They should be sued for False Advertising - the pictures that they use to promote their product is NOTHING like what you actually receive. You can not even see the burger unless you lift the top of the bun off. The burger is now child size - lost within the bun.

I for one have decided that it is more practical to go to a restaurant/diner and pay the higher price for an actual burger that is better and tastier and let's not forget hotter than the SHIT these fast food joints push.

It is time to boycott these places and force them to give the public it's dollar's worth and cease paying their CEO's these exuberant pays and bonuses for doing nothing but pushing papers.

Don't get me wrong capitalism is good but there are limits to the greediness of this enterprise. And that greediness is destroying the core of the American dream. A nation that was based on a three class structure has now reduced the classes to two - Rich vs. Poor. And let's not forget that our government is no longer a For the People by the People structure as it is now dominated by special interests and who can get the most for the least. Congress no longer has the interests of the population at heart as it does its own agenda of hate and division.  WAKE UP People before it is too late.

My rant here is not drawn out with great details but straight to the point as I feel it, so pardon the curtness but my point is clear - Enough is Enough!

has died at age 93. He began his Hollywood
career as a child actor. He was a friend of Judy

On April 5, 2014, in the state PA,
John Pinette, age 50, died. I found
him to be a good comic as I was
always entertained.

Cable TV

There are a few Cable TV companies in the United States. The top ones in my area of residency are
DirecTV, Comcast, DISH, Verizon and AT&T.

Personally, I do not believe that the public should pay outlandish costs just to be able to view TV shows. But we live in an age where there is no escaping this current trend just to watch TV.

Of the listed Cable Providers I have great ISSUE with Comcast. They are and have always been a terrible provider. On top of this they have found it necessary to burden their home area with higher costs to fund the building of their headquarters in Philadelphia, PA. And now they have plans to erect a second Tower Building and of course it will end up being another burden - cost wise - on the people of the City of Brotherly Love. Their service is lacking.  And their dominance of the Cable TV across the nation needs to be curtailed. Isn't this a Monopoly???????

Mike Huckabee DVD

Every freakin time I see the TV Commercial for Mike Huckabee's DVD about God's role in American History my skin just crawls. He says that he wants young children of today learn how God and American History are intertwined. This my readers is just plain Bullshit! He is a right wing conservative that wants to teach their version of such a union. we have a distorted view of other religions - mainly Islam - because one man wanted a war and used lies and deceit to achieve that end. Someone once said that people were sheep and easily led. No words were more true than in the after math of that fateful day in 2001. That horrific action committed on American Soil was done by an extremist sect of Islam. This view is no different than that of the American public during the fifties in regards to the Communist threat that was perceived at the time. That particular Communist threat was more of a Stalinist view/ideal of Communism. It was and is not the true ideal of Karl Marx's viewpoint of Communism.

Now I am a reasonably rational man with an above average education and am up to date on current events. But I have racked my brain trying to remember when God was a primary focus of the American psyche. Sure there are the opening prayers for congress. The God Bless America at the end of Presidential Address', National Holidays and other National functions. However, it was not until 9/11/2001 that God plays such a forefront in our lives. Sure, He is a part of lives but before that tragic day there was not the need to Wear our faith on our sleeves, as there is today. Why? Well, there can be many different views on that. Is there a deep guilt in our minds?? Nah it can not be that otherwise there would not be the so-called Bible-thumpers pontificating the word of Christ as is done. Examine if you will the following.

The Holy Bible is touted as the word of God. But all Bibles are not written the same. Each written version is written as it best serves the needs of its particular followers. There are scriptures that were written by others and not just Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. But because they did not fit in with the teachings of the church they were purposely omitted. Why is this? If scriptures are indeed the word and works of God should they not all be included. Thus giving a broader range of Christ's teachings.

Let's not forget, whether we like it or not, the Bible is a man written book of religious ideas.
I have stated before and re-avow the statement - the Christian religion is so far off track when it comes to the teaching of Christ's message. For when Christ taught His lessons there were no omissions of any particular peoples save the sinner. He offered Hope when the rich and powerful sought to keep that away from the masses.

Continued Sound Off

I am and shall always be a firm staunch supporter of  the Constitution's standing of separation of Church & State. There is a reason the Founding Fathers stood by this principle when forming this great nation. By the study of religion in governing, it will be seen how such power can destroy nations rather than build. Let religion work on the soul and let government work for the people.

Religious Matters

Those close to myself know that I do not adhere to any organized Religious Sect. That time has long come to pass. When my blinded vision regained true sight I was shocked, amazed and a bit tee'd off. When I came to realize that many of the things I learned or head of were but fabrications, twisted about to serve the organization's private needs - My foundation for religious beliefs collapsed.

Though I do not discuss my personal standing in regards to Religion, I do have a Spiritual Side. Just have not committed to any 1 thing. As this writing really is not abut my beliefs all that will be said for now is that I have adopted various portents from various religions that in short serve  my needs.
My spiritual being steps away from the standard concepts of organized religion.

This writing regards the derogation of Religion.

Everyone is free to accept and or believe that which religion in all forms teaches and holds true, to them that is. I do not approve and greatly frown upon the use of religious Idols, Theory, and Beliefs to be the butt of Comics, Drawings or Jokes. IT IS IGNORANT. There are far to many other things to make a pun of. There is a reason that Religion is not a barroom topic as are Politics and Love.

Personally, I am not amused by these things, they only serve to make me think less highly of the creator of such trash.
